Be a DAWS volunteer
We’re looking for some new additions to our lovely team of volunteers. Here at DAWS we run our services on a not-for-profit basis, we invest every penny back into our care – and our people. This means that volunteers offer a priceless contribution to help us provide the best possible service.
You don’t need to have any lived experience of substance misuse, just a can do attitude and willingness to learn. You’ll gain loads of experience, while being a valued member of our dedicated DAWS team.
Hostels & Outreach Volunteer
We’re looking for a volunteer to contribute to our Hostels & Outreach service, providing structured support for those living in temporary hostel accommodation to access substance use and alcohol treatment.
Saturday Social Club Volunteer
At our Saturday Social Club you’ll greet clients, prepare food, run activities and manage the sometimes-challenging behaviour of our service users, which is why the ability to think fast and on your feet will be crucial.
Volunteer Support Worker
Here, you’ll support the team with the successful delivery various interventions to our service users, assessment, advice and information on harm reduction, and be the friendly face that welcomes them into our service.
You’ll support the our admin team with the day to day admin tasks within the service, and be the friendly face that welcomes them into our service. It’s important that you’re the sort of person who thrives in a busy environment where you’re able to treat everybody as individuals.
Criminal Justice Volunteer
Our criminal justice service provides structured support for those within the criminal justice system to access substance use and alcohol treatment. Join us as a Volunteer and you won’t just enjoy the opportunity to gain valuable experience – you’ll have the chance to really give something back to your community as you contribute to the day-to-day running of our service.
