Celebrating our Peer Mentors
Last month a number of our Peer Mentors and Volunteers, along with others from across the country, were invited to a day out at the House of Lords where they were recognised by Turning Point’s ‘Inspired by Possibility Award’.
Having been nominated by their peers, Peer Mentors and Volunteers from across Turning Point were selected for the award by a judging panel. Each award winner was presented with a certificate and gift voucher to recognise and celebrate the contributions they have made. The event also offered an opportunity to chat to other Peer Mentors, Volunteers and Turning Point staff over a tasty lunch.
Our wonderful team of Peer Mentors is a huge part of what makes DAWS special. Our Peer Mentors all have lived experience of alcohol or drug use, often having come through the DAWS journey themselves. The event was a great opportunity to stop and reflect on the fantastic contribution they have each made to support and inspire others who are on similar journeys.
