Saturday Social Club Christmas Party

Staff, volunteers and peer mentors made a great effort to arrange a fun afternoon and a Christmas buffet for service users at the Drug & Alcohol Wellbeing Service Saturday Social Club.
A fabulous time was had by everyone and the spirit of Christmas was enjoyed by all. Service users became very competitive whilst taking part in a fun quiz and the quiz master who was one of our peer mentors Krupa, who did an amazing job. We played a few games of bingo and the clients had a choice of prizes to choose from which were donated by various shops in the community and at the end of the afternoon we held a Christmas raffle. We were also lucky enough to be able to supply some bits and bobs that were donated. There was plenty of food cooked by 2 of our volunteers and any excess went to a local hostel. The volunteers are already in discussion about holding their next event. We definitely achieved our aim which was for everyone to enjoy themselves.

‘We are really proud of the work peer mentors, volunteers and staff are doing at the Saturday social club. It plays a really important part in service users lives providing a place where they are able to access positive recovery focussed peer support and harm reduction advice as well as have some fun!
