Did you know that Turning Point Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland can assist individuals and communities to fund ideas?

We have two funds. The first is aimed at our service users and is called The Big Ideas Grant.

THE BIG IDEAS GRANT

The Big Ideas grant supports service users to share their passion, innovative ideas and skills with other people who also access our services.

Service user can apply for up to £150 to assist them with making their ideas come to life.

The idea should meet one or more of the 5 ways to wellbeing which are:

Connect

Social activities meeting new people, feeling less lonely.

Be Active –

Keeping fit, going for a walk, improving your mood

Keep Learning –

Try something new; learn a new skill, take up a hobby

Give –

Try volunteering, give your time to help others

Take Notice –

Getting to know local places, exploring your neighbourhood

Think creatively – for example – do you want to start a book club or organise an art group. Use the fund to fund the idea.

If any service user is interested in applying for a grant then email caroline.gadsby@turning-point.co.uk

THE INNOVATION FUND

Do you live or work within Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland? Do you have a passion for improving the wellbeing of people in Recovery within the local area?

You provide the big idea, we provide between £500 and £2500 to support to make it happen.

Our services

We provide substance misuse support and recovery services to the Leicester city, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The service is run by Turning Point and we supports residents, their families, friends, employers and the community to make positive changes to those need support around drugs and alcohol.

The Innovation Fund

We want to help local people to launch ideas and programs that will help the community and those accessing services for drugs and alcohol use, to reduce social isolation and improve 5 ways to wellbeing (Give, Keep Learning, Be Active, Take Notice, Connect – see https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/five-ways-to-mental-wellbeing for people in the local area

We especially like to fund initiatives that try to do things a bit differently, uses existing resources in new ways and offer opportunities for our service users to get involved (volunteering etc.). The fund application must support our service users and/or their families in one or more of the 5 ways to wellbeing.

If you are a charity, voluntary or community group with an income of less than £100,000 per annum your application is welcome. The grant is available to support new and innovation ideas, we are therefore unable to provide continuation for current funding that is due to come to an end.

Please email caroline.gadsby@turning-point.co.uk for an application form
