Festival of Careers
On Monday 23rd October, we visited the University of Leicester’s annual Festival of Careers to promote our services’ volunteering opportunities for our 24/7 crisis helpline, and various outreach services across the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland area.
Our volunteering opportunity is involved with ‘The Leicester Award’; a core programme for first year students at the University of Leicester whereby the student is required to seek a volunteering opportunity in order to encourage personal development, in addition to gaining key experience in a volunteering setting, to aid their future employability.
The opportunities we have available are able to support students with their own development, no matter what degree subject they may be studying.
Nina Zala, Helpline Co-ordinator at the Leicestershire Crisis Service, said “We were very pleased to work with the University of Leicester again and hope that we will gain more interest in the volunteering opportunities we provide here”.
The Leicestershire Crisis Helpline and outreach service are currently recruiting volunteers for these services. If you are interested in applying, please email Leicestershire.Helpline@turning-point.co.uk or call 0808 800 3302 for more information.
