Turning Point’s Medway Active Recovery Service is leading the way in providing service users with inspiring activities to help them on their journey to recovery.
We provide people with opportunities to take part in art sessions and gardening, as well as peer led groups at the Gillingham and Chatham hubs for people who want to talk about substance misuse with others who are experiencing similar issues.
One Care Co-ordinator at Turning Point said: “Our art and gardening groups provide are of great therapeutic value and provide service users with an outlet to express themselves freely. All are welcome, no matter their ability.
“We also run a discussion group, which is great because it really gets people engaged. It is up to the group to decide exactly what topics to talk about, but very often they choose to talk about current affairs which cause some lively discussions! We have found that this really builds people’s confidence and self-awareness, both of which are crucial for people in recovery.”
