International Women’s Day March 8th 2020
Sunday 8th March is International Women’s Day – an opportunity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
International Women’s Day has been observed for more than a century, and though those years have seen some unprecedented advances around the world, it remains a fact that no country has yet achieved unreserved gender equality.
A substantial number of Turning Point colleagues and people we support are women, and gender equality is something we truly value across our services up and down the country. We believe in treating everyone as an individual, regardless of their age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership and pregnancy and maternity. We are therefore proud of all the women who represent us, recognising their identities, their struggles, and the valuable contribution and insight they provide each day.
