We aim to make contact with individuals within 2 working days of receipt of referral. We will arrange for the client to be assessed and will use that assessment to create a person centred Recovery Plan. Service Users will have allocated Recovery Workers who will support them throughout their involvement with us. The Recovery Worker will make contact with you as the referrer to update you on progress and we hope to work closely with you to support our service users.
What happens when I refer someone to Turning Point services?
They will be contacted in order to arrange an initial consultation. During this session, we will complete a brief assessment and ascertain what their treatment goals may be and explore the reasons for seeking treatment. We will explain the different options available and talk through what might be helpful. The assessment session normally takes up to 1 hour and is completed by a Recovery Worker.
How long will treatment last?
As drug and alcohol treatment is a personal journey, we cannot give an accurate answer to this. One person may choose to only be involved for a few weeks; whereas, another may decide on a longer term plan and look to engage for a more prolonged period. Everyone is different and so are people’s treatment needs, which is what we try to reflect in our flexible approach.
Is all service user information treated in complete confidence?
All data regarding our clients is treated in confidence. We do ask service user consent for us to share vital information with other parties who are involved in their care. If there is any risk to life or safety of a child we will pass on information in order to manage the risks.
