Education, training, and employment

Looking forward to a bright future, independent from alcohol or drugs.

We know that a history of alcohol or drug use can make finding paid work, training, or education really difficult. But a key part of the DAWS service is to work with people who have reached the stage where they can manage their substance use – perhaps by being on a script, or someone who has cut down or quit substances completely – but still need some support to take part in work or training, and become part of the community again. This can be life-changing as employment can help you to think about your bright future, independent from alcohol or drugs.

Some examples of how we work includes covering the cost of a training course, or a suit for an interview. We do CV workshops, and can help you with the application process for a job. We understand that different people need different opportunities, so we’ll work closely with you to figure out what’s right for you. This could be full time work or part time, paid or voluntary.

To  learn more about our education, training, and employment work call us on 0330 303 8080 or email us at daws@turning-point.co.uk

We are currently providing limited face to face support as a result of COVID-19; however treatment is still available. Find out the latest update on how the service is operating and please phone your local hub if you need assistance.
