Nicky Morgan MP visits Loughborough hub
Last month, Nicky Morgan MP visited our drug and alcohol service in Loughborough. The hub visited is part of a wider service across Leicester and Leicestershire, with support available for young people and adults in various locations.
The purpose of the visit was to show the local MP the kind of support that is on offer to local residents. This includes one-to-one sessions, counselling, detoxification and rehabilitation, harm reduction and signposting to other support services.
Reflecting on the visit, Nicky Morgan said: ‘I’d like to thank Turning Point for inviting me to visit their service to see the great work they do locally supporting those struggling with substance misuse. Turning Point offers help to those who need it offering them a new direction in life. The staff were very committed and I was encouraged to see the positive difference they make to the lives of many.’
Inderjit Thoor, Operations Manager, said: ‘The visit went really well – Ms Morgan seemed to enjoy learning about the support we offer and how we are trying to shape the service as we progress. We are particularly proud of Martin, a Peer Mentor at the service, who spoke about how he helps service users on their journey to recovery from substance misuse.’
