Family Safety Week 2018
Socialicious promotes Family Safety Week
Saturday 21st April 2018 saw Turning Points Get Connected Team deliver a Family Safety Event alongside some of our community members and café regulars who are now strong in their own recovery.
Michelle (café regular & local artist), put together the family fun packs in preparation for the event. The packs included some fun activities, games to highlight possible dangers that may interrupt our daily routine and tips on how to keep children safe alongside helpline numbers for free advice on safety.
The sun was out, the café was attracting new clientele and Michelle stepped out of her comfort zone to interact with customers who were happy to receive a free family fun pack. This is an amazing testimony to how her journey just keeps on going from strength to strength, as she courageously steps into new territory, overcoming her social anxieties, and embracing her life of recovery. Packs will continue to be distributed throughout the week
Commitment and dedication pay off, as we try new things. It is often the things that don’t feel comfortable within life, that are essential if we want to find a new quality of life, after many years of substance or alcohol misuse.
Well done to Michelle and the team for all your help making this event a success.
