Annual recovery cycle event 2018
Annual recovery cycle returns to Wakefield
Inspiring Recovery Wakefield have organised its second annual recovery cycle event for all those it has supported through treatment for drugs and alcohol in the past 12 months.
Taking place on Tuesday 12th June at Trinity Walk, it is anticipated that a total of 415 miles will be cycled, representing and acknowledging the number of those who have successfully exited from treatment in the last year.
Members of the public, friends and family are also all invited to take part and add to the total number of miles cycled throughout the day.
Last year 396 people successfully completed their treatment programmes at Inspiring Recovery Wakefield, and over 734 miles was cycled at last year’s recovery cycle – the same distance as cycling to Frankfurt!
Static bikes, provided by Pure Gym Wakefield, will be erected at Trinity Walk from 10am-4pm.
Jo Rowe, Hub Manager for Inspiring Recovery Wakefield, Turning Point said:
“We are incredibly proud of all those who have successfully exited treatment over the past year at Inspiring Recovery Wakefield. The recovery cycle is a real opportunity to demonstrate how people’s lives can turn around and engage with the wider Wakefield Community.”
